WC - I had just been released from drill at my National Guard unit at the time. After a lengthy drive home, I decided that I should relax. Bored with Modern Warfare 3, not in the mood for Killzone 3, burned out on Little Big Planet 2, and tired of my substantial win streak on Tekken 6, I decided I should branch out my interests most of the games I were playing at the time were either of the Sports, Fighting, or First-Person Shooter genre. While the team at Infinity Ward slaves away on Call of Duty: Ghosts for release later this year, Sledgehammer is hard at work on a project of their own, or so it seems.

According to the LinkedIn profile of Rob Valdivia, the senior VFX artist at Sledgehammer Games, the studio is working on the next entry in the Modern Warfare series. Naturally, his profile has since been taken down, but not before someone on the PlaySt4tion forums captured an incriminating screenshot:

Of course, we'll have to treat the existence of Modern Warfare 4 as merely a rumor for the time being. That said, would you be interested in a follow-up to MW3? Call of Duty: Ghosts is going to be the first Call of Duty game on the next generation of consoles. Given the new platforms available, Infinity Ward aims to take a franchise into new territory. The Modern Warfare brand is gone. Ghosts is the new kid in town.
